Some students attending college have the mentality that living on campus is similar to walking a tightrope since there are so many events vying for their time and attention. You have your learning, your expanding circle of friends and all of their events, your family and friends back at home, decisions to be made about your professional life and/or grad school, your fitness level to track, and your well-being to nurture. All of these things take up a lot of your time. When you combine all of these challenges with concerns with your boyfriend or girlfriend and your roommate, it’s easy to see why you can feel overwhelmed at times.

How will you deal with it? As a college student, you are going to have to contend with a wide variety of things that might divert your attention. 1. Ensure that your goals are achievable. Creating objectives for yourself that are attainable is probably the first step toward finding balance. If you push yourself to achieve objectives that are beyond your reach, you will eventually get exhausted, upset, and dissatisfied for not being able to do what you set out to do. If your standards are too low for what you want to do, you’ll end up with too much spare time and a sense of emptiness after you reach those objectives. It’s important that the objectives you set for yourself be challenging, but not insurmountable obstacles to overcome. You may want to think about defining objectives for yourself, not only in terms of your academics but also in terms of other parts of life on campus. Also, make sure you don’t allow the objectives you set to be influenced by anybody else.

2. Figure out how to study efficiently. Learning at the college level requires more than simply putting in endless hours studying; thus, you need to figure out how you learn best and how to best prepare for tests, and then alter your schedule appropriately. Spending an excessive amount of time studying might really cause burnout and have a detrimental influence on the academic success of the student. Cramming your studies or not studying enough may sometimes lead to disastrous results. Along with setting objectives that are attainable, you should also create a study routine that is tailored to your needs.

3. Become more proficient at managing your time. Stay away from putting things off. When the beast of managing time that lies dormant inside us emerges, it is one of the primary reasons why we experience feelings of stress and feel like our lifestyles are out of balance. Create a method for organizing your time and setting priorities, making sure to schedule blocks of time for dining, training, studying, and hanging out with friends, in addition to some time when you can focus only on yourself.
