We’re often advised that engine oil is a motorcycle’s lifeline. It is so critical that you can’t even start an automobile without it. All of this sounds important, but how and why does investing in higher quality benefit your engine? We are informed at every service that the oil has been depleted and must be modified, but how do you pick the next one for your engine? Here are some things you should know about high-quality engine oil.

Better lubrication

This one is self-explanatory; engine oil runs through all of the engine’s critical components and provides the requisite lubrication between the mechanical parts. On the inside of engine, it forms a film of slick oil molecules. The engine parts are designed of metal and must rub against each other in order to work.

As a result, the components can overheat and become damaged. Engine oil coats the parts, lubricating them and helping them to work properly.
